FIDLab 2018

The 10th edition of FIDLab ended last night in Marseille.
An International coproduction platform for film projects at any stage of development. FIDLab 2018 selected 12 projects from 11 countries out of more than 320 projects received.
The FIDLab offers time for reflection and work in two stages : the presentation of projects supported by images and sound, followed by one-to-one meetings with professionals. This year, more than 240 one-to-one meetings took place.
The jury, composed of Chantal Crousel, founder of the Chantal Crousel Gallery ; Khalil Benkirane, Head of grants at the Doha Film Institute ; and Arnaud Dommerc producer and founder of the production company Andolfi, decided to award 9 different in-kind prizes provided by the 9 FIDlab partners :

Air France prize

The award goes to :
by Georg Tiller, produced by Subobscura Films / Austria

The laureate will receive from Air France for a long-haul flight.

Commune Image prize

The award goes to :
by Randa Maroufi, produced by Barney Production, Mont Fleuri Production / France, Morroco, Qatar

The Commune Image prize will allow 8 weeks use of edition facilities to the selected project

Camargo Foundation prizes

The two awards go to : :
by Assaf Gruber / Germany

by Pauline Curnier Jardin produced by Primitive Film / United Kingdom

The Camargo Foundation prize will allow a residency of 4 to 8 weeks.

Kodak - Silverway Prize

The award goes to :
by Dane Komljen and James Lattimer, produced by Flaneur Films, Andergraun / Germany, Spain

The KodakSilverway allow the laureate to obtain celluloid reels offered by Kodak and their development by Silverway Paris.

Mactari prize

The award goes to:
by Ghassan Salhab produced by Khamsin Films, Survivance / Lebanon, France

The Mactari award will provide a sound editing and/or sound mix studio, without a technician, to the selected project.

Micro Climat Studios prize

The award goes to:
by Nicolas Peduzzi /France

The post-production company will offer services (image editing, sound editing, sound mix, color grading, conforming) to be chosen by the winner.

Sublimage prize

The award goes to:
by Bill Morrison produced by Hypnotic Pictures, Picture Palace Pictures / United-States

The subtitling company Sublimage offers the adaptation and translation of their project in one of the 3 languages of their choice: French, English, Spanish.

Vidéo de Poche prize

The award goes to:
by Lívia de Paiva, Elena Meirelles, produced by Tardo Filmes / Brésil

The post-production company Vidéo de Poche will offer a DCP of the >ilm. It will also offer a special discount for the DCP creation to all the selected projects.

A particular attention will be paid by the Région Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur to the FIDLab projects produced or shot in the region.

FIDLab is supported by the CNC, the City of Marseille, Région Sud Provence-Alpes- Côte d’Azur, the General Council of Bouches-du-Rhône, the Ministry of Culture, PROCIREP, SCAM, Air France KLM and MEDIA Europe Creative.

The Award Ceremony was held at the Villa Méditerrannée in the presence of Jean- Pierre Rehm, Head of FIDMarseille, Fabienne Moris, Rebecca De Pas, co-heads of FIDLab and the FIDLab’s partners.
