DRAGOONED

Sandy AMERIO

‘In January 2010, a series of previously unreleased newsreels, produced
by the Office of War Information during World War Two, was included in the
Prelinger Archives Collection. The first film, called The Freed Zone, recounts
the storming of Le Muy by the 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion during
the Provence landings. Fascinated with this now royalty-free piece of US
propaganda history, Sandy Amerio called in a colorization studio based in
California. The original film has thus been restored thanks to a brand new
algorithmic technique allowing to delineate the borderlines of complex
areas. Dragooned is an immersive journey that will take you into the heart
of this World War Two updated version, following the 509th PIB soldiers’
advance into the unexplored and hostile territories of living history.’ (S.A.)
