The 9th edition of FIDLab ended last night in Marseille.

An International coproduction platform for film projects at any stage of development. FIDLab 2017 selected 11 projects from 12 countries out of more than 330 projects received.

The FIDLab offers time for reflection and work in two stages : the presentation of projects supported by images and sound, followed by one-to-one meetings with professionals.

The jury, Wilbirg Brainin-Donnenberg, Director Screenwriters Forum Vienna, Austria, Fiorella Moretti, CEO Sales & Acquisitions, Peru, and Roberto Olla,- Executive director of Eurimages, Italy, decided to award 6 different in-kind prizes provided by the 7 FIDlab partners :

 
The Panavision Alga Techno / Air France Award goes to
 
KAFKA FOR KIDS
by Roee Rosen, Israël.
 
The laureate will receive 10 000€ towards the camera rental on their next shoot. In addition, Panavision is committed to supporting and accompanying all the selected projects, regardless of their original country and the format the shooting may take.
Air France offers two long-distance plane tickets to the prize winners.
 
The Commune Image Award a post-production company, goes to :

A PORTUGUESA (THE PORTUGUESE)
by Rita Azevedo Gomes, produced by Basilisco Filmes, DuplaCena / Portugal.

This prize will allow 8 weeks use of edition facilities to the selected project.
 
The Mactari Award :

PENAL CORDILLERA
by Felipe Carmona, produced by Cinestación, El Otro Film / Chile.

This award will provide a sound editing and/or sound mix studio, without a technician, to the selected project.
 

The Camargo Foundation decided to award two prizes to :

SPARROW
by Sharunas Bartas, produced by Studija Kinema, KinoElektron / Lithuania, France.

KAFKA FOR KIDS
by Roee Rosen, Israel

This prize will allow a residency of 4 to 8 weeks.

 
The Sublimage Award goes to
 
AN(N)A/GRAM
by OUT 1 (Emilien Awada, Constanze Ruhm), produced by Les Fées Productions / Austria, France.

The subtitling company Sublimage offers the adaptation and translation of their project in one of the 3 languages of their choice: French, English, Spanish.
 
The Vidéo de Poche Award goes to
 
AS FAR AS WE COULD GET
by Iván Argote, France, Colombia, Indonesia.

The post-production company Vidéo de Poche will offer a DCP of the film. It will also offer a special discount for the DCP creation to all the selected projects.
 
A particular attention will be paid by the Région Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur to the FIDLab projects produced or shot in the region.
FIDLab is supported by the CNC, the City of Marseille, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Regional Council, the General Council of Bouches-du-Rhône, the Ministry of Culture PROCIREP, SCAM, Air France KLM and MEDIA Europe Creative.

The Award Ceremony was held at the Théâtre des Bernardines in the presence of Jean-Pierre Rehm, Head of FIDMarseille, Fabienne Moris, Rebecca De Pas, co-heads of FIDLab and the FIDLab's partners.

Following the success of this ninth edition, the FIDLab organizers are looking forward to meeting you in 2018 !
